BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Dr. Marks serves as a pastor, counselor, spiritual companion, and friend to the students, staff, faculty, and Trustees of NTS West. He has 45+ years of experience as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. who has served in a variety of ministries. Dr. Marks has served as a pastor primarily in urban congregations; as denominational staff at the regional Synod and national General Assembly levels; as a seminary chaplain; and for the past 2 1/2 years as Interim Pastor of an African American Presbyterian congregation in the Los Angeles area. He has served on a number of national committees dealing with urban and racial ethnic ministries; he has worked closely with students and Presbytery committees who assist inquirers and candidates prepare for the gospel ministry; and he has taught and taken students to meet international ecumenical leaders in West Africa, Europe and the Middle East.  Dr. Marks received his M.Div. Degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania, and his D. Min. Degree from the San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo, CA.
