An Appeal from President John A. D’Elia, Ph.D.

Dear Friends of NTSW,

Grace and peace to you in the name of the risen Christ!

We’ve been waiting more than 40 days to say those words—the long season of Lent is over, with its reflection and repentance, and now we get to bask in the celebration of God’s demonstration of power over all things, even death.

Christ is risen!
Christ is risen, indeed!

All of this is happening as the COVID-19 crisis continues to disrupt lives and plans. We’re also keenly aware of the suffering in Ukraine and other ongoing conflicts. We feel the anxiety of yet another election cycle in this country, and wonder if we can ever find our way back to healthy and productive debates over the serious questions of the day.

And yet…

Christ is risen!
Christ is risen, indeed!

The New Theological Seminary of the West (NTSWest) is rooted in the power and promise of the resurrection miracle. We believe that God raises up servant leaders to help all of us address the challenges of faith and service, and we also believe we have a part to play in that work.

NTSWest is working hard to retool and reimagine our mission as a place where theological education and ministry training are offered in practical and innovative ways. We’re focusing on developing more of our coursework for online delivery, and focusing on the skills and competencies that will offer the most help to the church in all its forms.

This is where you come in.

In the coming year we will offer a slate of degree courses and certificate programs for both online and in-person students. We are seizing this opportunity, just as people are rethinking the ways they work and worship and study, to offer timely and effective training for Christian leaders. You can help us realize this dream.

We’re seeking an additional $50,000 in investment in the seminary to help us meet these new needs in new ways. You can play a part in this with an Easter Season Gift to support the growth and upgrading of our teaching capabilities.

Gifts can be made online here, or you can send a check made out to NTSW to the NTSW Office, 626 Foothill Blvd., La Canada CA 91011.

Blessings to you during this Easter season. Stay safe and healthy, and we look forward to connecting again soon.

In Christ,

Rev. John A. D’Elia, Ph.D.
President and Professor of Christian History and Culture
